* Lead and strengthen the Performing Arts curriculum across KS3, GCSE Drama, GCSE Music, and BTEC Performing Arts pathways.
* Develop engaging lessons, assessment plans, and learning experiences that support student progress in drama, music, theatre, and performance.
* Guide Performing Arts teachers through coaching, feedback, planning support, and high-quality instructional practice.
* Use student performance data to identify learning gaps, plan interventions, and improve departmental outcomes.
* Oversee school productions, music ensembles, theatre workshops, creative showcases, and extracurricular Performing Arts activities.
* Build positive relationships with parents, students, and the wider school community through performances, events, and celebration of student achievement.
* Maintain departmental quality through lesson observations, curriculum reviews, data tracking, and consistent academic standards.
* Support senior leadership with inspection readiness, school improvement planning, and cross-curricular collaboration.
* Promote a creative, inclusive, and ambitious learning culture where students can develop confidence, discipline, teamwork, and artistic skills.

Ideal Profile

* B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE, or an equivalent recognised qualification in Secondary teaching or a related education field.
* Strong experience teaching Performing Arts within a British curriculum school, including GCSE and/or A-Level pathways.
* At least 3 years of experience leading a team of Performing Arts teachers.
* Excellent subject knowledge across drama, music, theatre, performance, and creative curriculum delivery.
* Proven ability to deliver outstanding teaching and learning in a high-performing school setting.
* Confident in using assessment data to improve student achievement and shape curriculum decisions.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to work closely with students, parents, teachers, and senior leaders.
