Role Context
The Head of Secondary serves as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team and plays a critical role in shaping the academic and operational success of the Secondary section. This position supports the Principal in delivering the school’s vision, managing daily academic affairs, improving teaching standards, and strengthening student outcomes while maintaining compliance with CBSE, KHDA, and DSIB expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Principal and contribute to the strategic leadership of the school as a core member of the Senior Leadership Team.
Lead the day-to-day academic operations and overall management of the Secondary wing.
Uphold the school’s vision, mission, values, and educational policies across all teaching and learning activities.
Ensure strong implementation of CBSE curriculum standards and board examination assessment requirements.
Drive school improvement plans, self-evaluation processes, and academic performance enhancement strategies.
Supervise instructional programs by reviewing lesson plans, conducting classroom observations, and improving teaching quality.
Promote best practice pedagogy and maintain high standards in teaching, learning, and assessment delivery.
Oversee discipline, attendance systems, and student safeguarding procedures with consistency and fairness.
Foster a learning environment focused on academic excellence, holistic development, and continuous improvement.
Strengthen leadership team capabilities through innovative learning designs and development initiatives.
Align curriculum, teaching, and assessment practices with performance improvement goals and educational benchmarks.
Support UAE National Agenda goals by promoting UAE culture and compliance with national educational expectations.
Prepare required documentation for KHDA inspections, audits, and DSIB review processes.
Manage leadership performance and staff development within the Secondary wing.
Maintain confidentiality and professional ethics in all stakeholder interactions and school operations.
Ideal Profile
Master’s degree in Education or an education-related field is highly preferred.
Minimum 3 years of experience in senior school leadership roles such as Head of Secondary or Deputy Head of Secondary.
Strong expertise in CBSE curriculum and board examination standards is essential.
Experience in school improvement planning and teacher development programs is required.
Proven success in leadership training, CPD delivery, and professional development initiatives.
Experience measuring training effectiveness and identifying development needs.
Strong knowledge of KHDA, DSIB inspection frameworks, and UAE school regulations is highly desirable.
Excellent English communication skills both written and verbal.
Strong leadership, interpersonal, team-building, and stakeholder management abilities.
