Role Summary
The Head of Secondary leads the overall direction, management, and performance of the Secondary School. The role is responsible for driving teaching quality, student achievement, curriculum delivery, and staff development while maintaining a strong culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide strategic leadership across the Secondary phase ensuring high academic standards
* Lead and manage teaching staff to deliver consistent and high-quality classroom practices
* Drive student attainment through effective use of data, assessment, and intervention strategies
* Oversee curriculum planning and delivery across KS3, KS4, and Post-16 including IGCSE and A Level
* Monitor and improve assessment systems including benchmarking tools and external standards
* Ensure accurate reporting of student progress to parents and stakeholders
* Support school improvement planning and contribute to self-evaluation processes
* Lead inspection readiness and compliance with academic standards
* Promote student wellbeing, behaviour management, and safeguarding practices
* Strengthen co-curricular programmes and overall student development

Candidate Requirements

* Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
* Recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE or equivalent
* Extensive experience in senior leadership within a Secondary School setting
* Proven track record of raising student achievement and leading school improvement initiatives
* Strong knowledge of British curriculum frameworks including GCSE and A Level
* Experience using data to drive teaching and learning strategies
* Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
* Ability to inspire teams and build strong relationships within the school community
