Role Context
The Health and Safety Officer plays a critical role in protecting students, staff, visitors, and school property by implementing and monitoring effective health and safety systems. This position ensures that all school operations follow approved safety standards, hygiene protocols, emergency preparedness plans, and public health compliance requirements across the campus.
Key Responsibilities
Develop regulations, policies, standards, and operational guidelines to improve school health and safety procedures.
Monitor the implementation of safety protocols related to students, staff, visitors, and school property protection.
Ensure full compliance with KHDA, DHA, Dubai Municipality, and Civil Defense health and safety regulations.
Train staff on best practices, emergency procedures, and KHDA and Dubai Municipality compliance requirements.
Conduct all required health and safety training sessions for students and school employees.
Manage the designated isolation room and ensure correct operational procedures are followed.
Provide guidelines for daily cleaning, sanitization, and hygiene standards across all school facilities.
Support adherence to DHA public health regulations and school clinic compliance standards.
Conduct fire safety audits and coordinate with Civil Defense during inspections and fire safety reviews.
Plan and execute evacuation drills and prepare detailed safety reports and corrective action plans.
Deliver fire safety orientations for newly hired employees and annual refresher training for all staff.
Maintain attendance records and compliance documentation for all health and safety training activities.
Identify potential fire hazards and workplace risks during regular inspection rounds and recommend corrective actions.
Coordinate contact tracing procedures with the school clinic and ensure all actions are properly recorded in the HASANA system.
Ideal Profile
NEBOSH certification is mandatory.
Previous experience as a Health and Safety Officer within a school environment is required.
Strong knowledge of KHDA, DHA, Dubai Municipality, and Civil Defense regulations is essential.
Female candidates are required for this role.
Experience managing school health compliance, fire safety, and emergency preparedness programs.
Strong understanding of contact tracing procedures and HASANA system compliance.
Excellent communication, reporting, and staff training abilities.
