Role Context
The Islamic A and B Teacher - British Curriculum will plan, teach, and assess Islamic Studies lessons for Arabic-speaking and non-Arabic speaking students. The role requires the ability to teach confidently in Arabic and English while helping students understand Islamic beliefs, values, ethics, worship practices, Quranic concepts, Seerah, Islamic history, and responsible behavior. The teacher will support curriculum delivery, classroom engagement, student progress, and school-wide cultural and moral development.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging Islamic A and Islamic B lessons aligned with UAE curriculum requirements and British curriculum school standards.
* Teach Islamic Studies confidently in both Arabic and English according to student language needs and curriculum expectations.
* Support Arabic-speaking and non-Arabic speaking students in understanding Islamic values, beliefs, manners, worship, Quranic themes, Seerah, and Islamic history.
* Prepare lesson plans, classroom activities, worksheets, digital resources, assessments, and learning materials that support student engagement.
* Use differentiated teaching strategies to meet the needs of students with varied abilities, language levels, and learning styles.
* Assess student learning through oral responses, classwork, homework, projects, quizzes, written tasks, and formal assessments.
* Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, attainment, feedback, and classroom performance.
* Create a respectful, positive, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes discipline, confidence, curiosity, and moral development.
* Collaborate with subject leaders, coordinators, teachers, and school leadership to support curriculum planning and learning improvement.
* Communicate professionally with parents and guardians regarding student progress, learning expectations, and support needs.
* Use educational technology and digital tools to make Islamic Studies lessons interactive, accessible, and age appropriate.
* Participate in Islamic activities, assemblies, school events, inspections, staff meetings, and professional development sessions.
* Promote UAE values, tolerance, cultural respect, responsible conduct, and positive student behavior across the school community.
* Follow school policies related to safeguarding, inclusion, assessment, classroom management, and student wellbeing.
Ideal Profile
* Master’s degree in Islamic Studies.
* Teaching qualification or certification such as PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent.
* Strong knowledge of Islamic A and B curriculum requirements in the UAE.
* Must be able to teach Islamic Studies in both Arabic and English.
* Experience teaching Islamic Studies in a British curriculum school will be an advantage.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage students from diverse backgrounds.
* Collaborative attitude with the ability to work effectively with teachers, coordinators, and school leadership.
* Strong classroom management, lesson planning, assessment, and academic documentation skills.
