Role Context
The Islamic Studies Teacher plays an important role in building students’ understanding of Islamic teachings, values, and traditions through accessible and age-appropriate lessons designed for non-Arab learners. This position supports both academic learning and personal development while fostering respect, inclusion, and strong moral values across the school community.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver Islamic Studies lessons in English for non-Arab students following approved curriculum standards.
Prepare structured lesson plans aligned with student age groups and educational requirements.
Teach core Islamic topics including the Five Pillars of Islam, life of Prophet Muhammad PBUH, stories of the Prophets, basic Fiqh, Islamic manners, Qur’anic values, and Islamic history.
Use translations and simplified teaching methods to ensure students clearly understand Islamic concepts.
Create a respectful, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that supports active participation.
Apply different teaching methods to meet various learning styles and student abilities.
Monitor student progress regularly and provide academic feedback to students and parents.
Participate in school events, Islamic celebrations, assemblies, and educational activities.
Collaborate with teachers and school leadership to strengthen curriculum quality and student outcomes.
Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating strong Islamic values and professional conduct.
Support student spiritual growth, character development, and cultural awareness within the school environment.
Ideal Profile
Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Studies, Education, or a related field is required.
Minimum 2 years of teaching experience is mandatory.
Previous experience teaching non-Arabic speaking students is highly preferred.
Fluency in English is required.
Arabic language knowledge is an advantage but not mandatory.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience in international or bilingual school environments is an added advantage.
Patience, cultural sensitivity, and a nurturing teaching approach are essential.
Ability to integrate technology and interactive learning tools into lessons.
