Role Context
The KG Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging early years lessons, managing classroom learning, assessing student progress, and working closely with parents, colleagues, and support professionals. The role supports academic growth, social development, positive behaviour, and the school’s wider vision of collaboration, leadership, creativity, and inclusive learning.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver inspiring KG lessons that help students make strong academic, social, and emotional progress.
* Plan, prepare, and present learning sessions that meet the needs of the full ability range within the class.
* Organise classroom resources, displays, and learning areas to create a positive and engaging environment.
* Work collaboratively with fellow teachers to plan curriculum-based activities and improve learning outcomes.
* Motivate young learners through enthusiastic, imaginative, and age-appropriate teaching methods.
* Observe and assess children in line with school assessment expectations and early years development goals.
* Use assessment data and Target Tracker to guide planning, provision, intervention, and student support.
* Take responsibility for the progress, wellbeing, and learning development of the assigned class.
* Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student progress, achievements, and wellbeing.
* Liaise with speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, educational psychologists, and other professionals when required.
* Follow the school behaviour policy and use positive strategies to inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils.
* Maintain strong relationships with students while promoting self-control, independence, respect, and positive attitudes.
* Work with curriculum support staff where applicable to support children’s learning and development.
* Contribute to curriculum action groups, planning, assessment, resources, and special school events.
* Support school outings, activities, events, and extra-curricular programmes, including a weekly ECA each term.
* Use school systems such as CPOMS where appropriate to support communication and safeguarding processes.
* Uphold child protection expectations, school policies, professional standards, and safeguarding requirements at all times.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s Degree in Kindergarten Education or a related subject with PGCE or another recognised teaching qualification.
* Minimum 1-2 years of KG teaching experience.
* Clear understanding of early years learning, classroom provision, assessment, and curriculum delivery.
* Previous experience working with students for whom English is not the first language.
* Strong passion for teaching and commitment to supporting the whole child.
* Excellent communication skills with students, parents, colleagues, and the wider school community.
* Ability to build positive relationships and work cooperatively with teachers, support staff, and families.
* Reflective teaching approach with the ability to adjust planning, classroom environment, and learning activities.
* High level of professionalism with strong consideration for children’s wellbeing.
* Recent and consistent involvement in extra-curricular activities.
* Respectful attitude toward all members of the school community.
* Positive, solution-focused approach to daily school life.
* Clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check, police clearance, or equivalent background check required.
* Ability to reside in the same Emirate as the assigned school.
