Role Context

The Lead - School Improvement will support the strategic development and performance improvement of Charter Schools in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on implementing the LEAD Framework, coaching school leaders, improving instructional quality, reviewing school data, monitoring School Improvement Plans, and preparing schools for ADEK inspections. By combining strong pedagogy, leadership development, evidence-based intervention, and cross-school collaboration, the position helps raise academic outcomes and strengthen the quality of education across the Charter School programme.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead the implementation of the LEAD Framework to help Charter Schools meet and exceed agreed performance expectations.
* Support principals and senior leaders in identifying school strengths, improvement priorities, and development needs through diagnostic reviews.
* Coach school leaders to strengthen accountability, instructional leadership, school culture, and whole-school improvement planning.
* Deliver targeted professional development aligned with leadership standards, school improvement priorities, and LEAD Framework pillars.
* Work with school teams to improve teaching and learning through instructional walkthroughs, evidence-based strategies, and data-informed planning.
* Monitor the impact of instructional initiatives and provide constructive feedback that supports continuous refinement.
* Promote a shared culture of high expectations among school leaders, teachers, students, and the wider school community.
* Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of School Improvement Plans aligned with LEAD priorities and ADEK standards.
* Lead the use of school-wide performance data to identify trends, measure progress, and inform decision-making.
* Help schools set ambitious and measurable targets for student achievement, leadership growth, and staff development.
* Facilitate regular school improvement review cycles and contribute to internal quality assurance processes.
* Report school improvement progress to senior leadership and recommend interventions, support actions, or resource allocation where required.
* Support schools in preparing for ADEK inspections by reviewing practices, identifying gaps, and aligning evidence with inspection expectations.
* Create cross-school learning networks to share successful strategies, innovation, and impactful improvement practices.
* Contribute to group-wide education projects, pilot programmes, innovation labs, and curriculum enhancements aligned with LEAD goals.
* Build trust with school teams while maintaining clear accountability for standards, progress, and improvement outcomes.
* Perform additional duties assigned by the Head of Education - Charter Schools or Director of Charter Schools in support of the wider Charter School programme.

Ideal Profile

* Bachelor’s degree in Education or Bachelor’s degree with postgraduate teaching qualification such as PGCE.
* Master’s degree in Education will be an advantage.
* Minimum 2 years of senior leadership experience in a school setting.
* Previous experience as a Vice Principal or equivalent senior leadership role.
* Deep understanding of school improvement processes, educational leadership, and instructional quality.
* Proven expertise in data analysis, evidence-based school transformation, and performance improvement.
* Strong knowledge of school review cycles, quality assurance, improvement planning, and education standards.
* Knowledge of ADEK regulations and the UAE education context is preferred.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust, influence school teams, and drive sustainable change.
* Effective coaching, mentoring, and adult learning facilitation skills.
* Strong ability to support principals and senior leaders with school accountability and leadership capacity building.
* Capable of managing growth, raising standards, and supporting improvement across multiple schools.
* Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
* Able to work in a multicultural education environment with cultural sensitivity and professional judgment.
* Proactive and committed approach, with willingness to contribute additional effort when school improvement priorities require it.
