Role Context
The Math Head of Department leads curriculum planning, academic supervision, and teacher development for the Mathematics department. This position works closely with school leadership and teaching teams to improve pedagogy, raise student performance, and ensure consistent delivery of high-quality Mathematics education across the school.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the Mathematics department with strong academic planning and subject leadership.
Work directly with teachers to improve teaching methods, classroom delivery, and subject knowledge for better student outcomes.
Support curriculum design, lesson planning, and assessment strategies aligned with British curriculum standards.
Monitor teaching quality and ensure lessons consistently meet the required standard of good and outstanding practice.
Collaborate with senior leaders to strengthen academic standards and support school improvement plans.
Review student achievement data and implement strategies to improve attainment and progress across all grade levels.
Conduct classroom observations, mentoring sessions, and performance feedback for Mathematics teachers.
Ensure departmental compliance with school policies, KHDA expectations, and UAE teaching frameworks.
Support examination preparation, reporting, and curriculum documentation.
Participate in leadership meetings, parent communication, and school academic planning activities.
Contribute actively to school inspections, audits, and continuous professional development initiatives.
Ideal Profile
Bachelor of Science in Mathematics is required.
Master of Science in Mathematics is mandatory.
Bachelor of Education qualification is required.
Distance learning or open university degrees are not accepted.
Strong Mathematics subject knowledge and curriculum leadership experience are essential.
Previous UAE school experience in a similar HOD or coordinator role is highly preferred.
Excellent English communication skills both written and verbal.
Strong leadership, mentoring, and team management abilities.
Good understanding of UAE teaching frameworks and educational compliance standards.
Candidates must be available in the UAE for demo lessons and interview.
