Role Context
The Mathematics Teacher will plan, teach, assess, and support students by creating a classroom environment where numeracy, reasoning, problem-solving, and mathematical confidence can grow. The role supports academic achievement, curriculum delivery, parent communication, student wellbeing, behaviour expectations, and the wider school mission of exciting, challenging, and empowering learners.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver inspiring mathematics lessons that support strong academic progress and positive learning outcomes.
* Plan, prepare, and present sessions that meet curriculum expectations and the needs of different ability levels.
* Organise classroom resources, displays, and learning materials to create a stimulating mathematics learning environment.
* Support students in developing numeracy, problem-solving, reasoning, calculation, and analytical thinking skills.
* Use enthusiastic and imaginative teaching strategies to make mathematics engaging and accessible.
* Work alongside fellow teachers to plan lessons, share ideas, and maintain consistent curriculum delivery.
* Observe and assess students in line with school assessment expectations and learning standards.
* Use Target Tracker and assessment data to inform planning, intervention, and student progress support.
* Take responsibility for the progress, wellbeing, and classroom learning experience of assigned students.
* Build positive relationships with students, parents, colleagues, curriculum support staff, and the wider school community.
* Communicate effectively with parents and caretakers about student progress, achievement, and wellbeing.
* Liaise with speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, educational psychologists, and other professionals when required.
* Follow the school behaviour policy and apply suitable classroom management strategies.
* Promote independence, self-control, respect, confidence, and positive attitudes toward learning.
* Work as part of curriculum action groups, supporting planning, assessment, resources, and special school events.
* Support school activities, outings, community events, and extra-curricular programmes, including a weekly ECA each term.
* Use CPOMS or relevant school systems where appropriate to support safeguarding and communication processes.
* Uphold school policies, safeguarding requirements, professional standards, and Aldar Education expectations at all times.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related subject.
* PGCE or another recognised teacher qualification.
* Teaching experience in an American curriculum, international school, or similar classroom setting preferred.
* Strong understanding of curriculum planning, classroom provision, assessment, and student development.
* Ability to teach mathematics in a clear, engaging, and age-appropriate way.
* Experience supporting students for whom English is not the first language is preferred.
* Passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child.
* Excellent communication skills with students, parents, colleagues, and school leaders.
* Reflective teaching approach with the ability to adjust planning, classroom environment, and learning strategies.
* High level of professionalism with strong consideration for student wellbeing.
* Recent involvement in extra-curricular activities is an advantage.
* Respectful and inclusive attitude toward all members of the school community.
