The position is suitable for an experienced educator with strong subject knowledge, UAE British curriculum experience, KHDA framework awareness, and the ability to support teaching quality, curriculum planning, student progress, and departmental standards.
Role Context
The MSC and Humanities Coordinator will support the planning, delivery, monitoring, and improvement of MSC and Humanities subjects across the school. The role requires collaboration with teachers, school leaders, and academic teams to ensure strong curriculum alignment, effective classroom practice, accurate assessment, and improved student learning outcomes. The successful candidate should be physically present in the UAE, with own visa or spouse visa candidates preferred.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate MSC and Humanities curriculum planning, teaching standards, assessment practices, and academic expectations.
* Support teachers in delivering effective lessons across Moral, Social and Cultural Studies and Humanities subjects.
* Contribute to curriculum mapping, lesson planning, schemes of work, assessment schedules, and departmental improvement plans.
* Monitor teaching and learning through planning reviews, student work checks, lesson observations, and progress data analysis.
* Work with teachers to improve pedagogy, classroom engagement, differentiated instruction, and student achievement.
* Support students in developing knowledge of social studies, cultural awareness, citizenship, ethics, history, geography, global perspectives, and UAE values.
* Ensure curriculum delivery reflects British curriculum expectations and relevant UAE education requirements.
* Apply knowledge of the KHDA framework to support school improvement, inspection readiness, and academic quality standards.
* Liaise with school leadership to review student progress, attainment, curriculum coverage, and areas for academic development.
* Provide guidance to teachers on assessment, feedback, intervention strategies, and student support.
* Maintain accurate departmental records, curriculum documents, assessment data, meeting notes, and academic evidence.
* Encourage the use of interactive teaching methods, educational technology, discussion-based learning, and inquiry-led classroom practice.
* Communicate professionally with teachers, coordinators, parents, and school leadership when required.
* Promote a respectful and inclusive learning culture that supports student wellbeing, cultural understanding, and responsible citizenship.
* Perform additional coordination duties related to the MSC and Humanities department as assigned by school leadership.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Humanities or a related subject is mandatory.
* Minimum 1 year of UAE experience in a similar position within a British curriculum school is required.
* Strong knowledge of MSC, Humanities, Social Studies, cultural education, and values-based learning.
* Knowledge of the KHDA framework is preferred.
* Excellent English communication skills.
* Experience in curriculum coordination, teacher support, assessment planning, and academic documentation.
* Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, school leaders, students, and parents.
* Strong organizational skills with attention to deadlines, curriculum standards, and school improvement requirements.
* Own visa or spouse visa candidates will be preferred.
