Role Context
The Music Teacher supports the school’s academic and performing arts vision by delivering engaging lessons that develop musical knowledge, practical skills, and student confidence. This role contributes to both classroom learning and extracurricular activities, helping students participate in concerts, performances, and creative school events while maintaining high educational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Teach music theory, instrumental performance, and vocal training to students across assigned grade levels.
Develop and implement a structured music curriculum aligned with British, American, IB, or other approved academic frameworks.
Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of students with different learning styles and skill levels.
Organize school concerts, music performances, assemblies, and arts-related events throughout the academic year.
Encourage student participation in extracurricular music clubs, competitions, and performance activities.
Assess student progress regularly and prepare reports in line with school academic policies.
Maintain music classrooms, instruments, teaching materials, and technical resources effectively.
Create a respectful, positive, and inclusive classroom environment that supports creativity and discipline.
Collaborate with teaching staff to integrate music into wider school projects and interdisciplinary learning.
Participate in parent-teacher meetings, staff meetings, and professional development activities.
Support school events and contribute to the overall performing arts culture of the institution.
Ideal Profile
Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or a related field is required.
Master’s degree is preferred for advanced academic roles.
Teaching certification such as PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent UAE-approved qualification is required.
Minimum 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in an international or bilingual school environment.
Strong proficiency in one or more musical instruments is essential.
Experience with curriculum frameworks such as British IGCSE, A-Level, American curriculum, or IB is an advantage.
Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
Strong cultural awareness and ability to work in a diverse school setting.
Comfortable using technology for lesson delivery and student assessment.
