Role Context
The Music Teacher plays an important role in building students’ creativity, confidence, and artistic expression through structured music education and performance opportunities. This position supports curriculum delivery, student development, and extracurricular engagement while maintaining high teaching standards aligned with international curriculum expectations and school educational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Teach music theory, instrumental skills, and vocal training to students across assigned grade levels.
Develop and implement a music curriculum aligned with British, American, IB, or other international curriculum standards.
Plan and deliver engaging lessons that support students with different learning abilities and musical interests.
Organize school concerts, music performances, talent showcases, and other performing arts events.
Encourage and support student participation in extracurricular music clubs, competitions, and school productions.
Assess student progress regularly and maintain accurate academic records, reports, and performance evaluations.
Manage music resources, instruments, and classroom equipment to ensure effective lesson delivery.
Create a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment that encourages creativity and confidence.
Collaborate with teachers and coordinators to integrate music with other academic subjects where appropriate.
Participate in parent-teacher meetings, staff meetings, school events, and professional development sessions.
Support school policies, student wellbeing initiatives, and high-quality educational standards.
Ideal Profile
Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or a related field is required.
Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
Teaching certification such as PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent is mandatory.
Minimum 2 years of teaching experience is required, preferably in an international or bilingual school setting.
Proficiency in one or more musical instruments is essential.
Familiarity with British IGCSE, A-Level, American, or IB curriculum frameworks is an advantage.
Strong classroom management and student engagement abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Competency in using technology for instruction and assessment.
Creativity, cultural awareness, and a genuine passion for music education are essential.
