Role Context
The Physics Teacher will plan, teach, assess, and support students through structured science lessons that develop curiosity, analytical thinking, practical investigation skills, and confidence in Physics concepts. The role contributes to student achievement, classroom culture, parent communication, curriculum delivery, and the school’s wider mission of shaping well-rounded learners prepared for future leadership and global opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver inspiring Physics lessons that support strong academic progress and student engagement.
* Plan, prepare, and present sessions that meet curriculum requirements and support the full ability range within the class.
* Organise classroom provision, science resources, displays, and learning materials to create a positive and stimulating environment.
* Support students in developing scientific knowledge, practical enquiry, problem-solving, reasoning, and analytical skills.
* Use enthusiastic and imaginative teaching strategies to motivate learners and encourage active participation.
* Work alongside fellow teachers to plan engaging lessons and maintain consistent curriculum delivery.
* Observe and assess students in line with school assessment expectations and learning standards.
* Use Target Tracker and assessment data to guide planning, intervention, and student progress support.
* Take responsibility for student progress, wellbeing, and the daily classroom learning experience.
* Build positive relationships with students, parents, colleagues, curriculum support staff, and the wider school community.
* Communicate effectively with parents and carers about student progress, achievement, and wellbeing.
* Liaise with speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, educational psychologists, and other professionals when required.
* Follow the school behaviour policy and apply suitable classroom management strategies.
* Promote independence, self-control, respect, curiosity, leadership, and positive attitudes toward learning.
* Embed Teacher and Learner DNA language and attitudes throughout classroom practice.
* Reflect on lessons, student progress, classroom provision, and planning to improve learning outcomes.
* Support school events, activities, enrichment opportunities, and wider community initiatives when required.
* Uphold safeguarding expectations, school policies, professional conduct, and Aldar Education standards at all times.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s Degree in Physics, Science, Education, or a related subject.
* PGCE or another recognised teacher qualification preferred.
* Teaching experience in an American curriculum, international school, or similar science classroom setting preferred.
* Clear understanding of curriculum planning, classroom delivery, assessment, and student development.
* Strong ability to explain Physics concepts in a clear, practical, and age-appropriate way.
* Experience supporting students for whom English is not the first language is an advantage.
* Passion for science teaching and commitment to educating the whole child.
* Strong communication skills with students, parents, colleagues, and school leaders.
* Reflective teaching approach with the ability to adapt planning and learning strategies.
* High level of professionalism with strong consideration for student wellbeing.
