Role Context
The Physics Teacher will support strong science learning by delivering well-structured lessons, developing curriculum resources, monitoring student performance, and helping learners build confidence in scientific concepts, practical investigation, problem-solving, and examination preparation. The role also contributes to department planning, academic intervention, enrichment activities, and a positive learning culture across the school.
Key Responsibilities
* Teach Physics lessons aligned with the English National Curriculum and school academic expectations.
* Plan and deliver engaging learning experiences that develop scientific knowledge, enquiry skills, and analytical thinking.
* Support the development and review of schemes of work for relevant year groups and examination courses.
* Use assessment data to identify students who need additional support and create targeted action plans.
* Contribute to department planning, school self-evaluation, academic policies, and teaching improvement priorities.
* Ensure curriculum continuity, coverage, and progression for students across different ability levels.
* Provide suitable classroom support for SEN-POD, gifted and talented, and EAL students.
* Maintain high expectations for achievement, behaviour, learning quality, and student engagement.
* Evaluate learning outcomes and adapt teaching strategies to improve progress and close gaps.
* Support IGCSE and IB Diploma booster, revision, and after-school academic sessions.
* Contribute to enrichment activities, the CAS programme, and wider science-related learning opportunities.
* Use laboratory resources, classroom space, and learning materials to create a stimulating science environment.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues, senior leaders, students, and parents to support student success.
* Follow school policies, safeguarding procedures, professional standards, and Aldar Education expectations.
* Help build a caring classroom culture where students feel challenged, supported, and motivated to achieve.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s Degree in Physics or a closely related science subject.
* PGCE, QTS, or another recognised teacher qualification.
* Minimum 6 years of teaching experience.
* Experience teaching the UK curriculum or English National Curriculum.
* Strong subject knowledge in Physics, practical science, and examination preparation.
* Proven ability to raise standards, improve outcomes, and support underachieving students.
* Experience using student data to guide planning, assessment, intervention, and reporting.
* Ability to support diverse learners, including SEN-POD, gifted and talented, and EAL students.
* Strong collaboration skills with the confidence to contribute to department development.
* Leadership experience or the ability to support academic improvement at different levels.
* Commitment to enrichment, revision support, school community life, and student wellbeing.
* Passionate, caring, and professional approach to teaching.
* Satisfactory references and police clearance required for appointment.
