Role Context
The Primary English Teacher - British Curriculum will plan, teach, assess, and support English learning across primary year groups. The role requires a teacher who can develop students’ reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, and creative expression skills. The successful candidate should have strong experience in a similar role, preferably within British curriculum schools, and should be available to join immediately.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging Primary English lessons aligned with British curriculum expectations and school academic standards.
* Teach core English skills including reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, vocabulary, spelling, comprehension, and creative writing.
* Prepare structured lesson plans, worksheets, classroom activities, assessments, projects, and digital learning resources.
* Support students in developing fluency, confidence, communication skills, critical thinking, and independent learning habits.
* Use differentiated teaching strategies to meet the needs of students with different abilities, learning styles, and academic levels.
* Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment that encourages participation, respect, and curiosity.
* Assess student progress through classwork, homework, oral tasks, written assignments, reading activities, quizzes, tests, and formative assessments.
* Provide constructive feedback to students and maintain accurate records of attainment, progress, attendance, behavior, and classroom performance.
* Support literacy development through reading programs, writing practice, vocabulary-building activities, and guided classroom discussions.
* Encourage students to build confidence in English communication through presentations, storytelling, group work, and creative tasks.
* Collaborate with coordinators, teachers, and school leadership to support curriculum delivery and student achievement.
* Communicate professionally with parents and guardians regarding student progress, learning needs, and classroom expectations.
* Use educational technology and interactive tools to enhance English teaching and student engagement.
* Participate in staff meetings, school events, professional development, curriculum planning, and assessment-related activities.
* Follow school policies related to safeguarding, inclusion, classroom management, assessment, and student wellbeing.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English or a related subject.
* B.Ed qualification is required.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar English teaching role in the home country or UAE is mandatory.
* Experience in British curriculum schools will be preferred.
* Strong English subject knowledge with the ability to teach primary-level literacy and language skills effectively.
* Excellent communication, classroom management, lesson planning, and organizational skills.
* Ability to create engaging lessons that support reading, writing, speaking, listening, and comprehension development.
* Strong understanding of assessment practices, student progress tracking, and academic documentation.
* Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, coordinators, parents, students, and school leadership.
