Role Context

The Primary Maths Coordinator works under the guidance of the Head of Department Maths and plays a key role in improving curriculum quality, teaching consistency, and academic performance across primary mathematics. This position supports teachers through mentoring, observations, and professional development while ensuring strong alignment with British curriculum standards and DSIB expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Support and guide all Primary Maths Teachers to improve teaching standards and student learning outcomes.

Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Mathematics curriculum across primary grade levels.

Ensure lesson planning and curriculum delivery meet British curriculum standards and school academic goals.

Conduct regular lesson observations and provide professional feedback to improve classroom teaching quality.

Lead CPD sessions and training workshops to strengthen teacher skills and instructional practices.

Support teachers in selecting effective teaching strategies and delivering strong daily lesson plans.

Conduct team teaching sessions and classroom support activities where required.

Monitor student progress and recommend intervention strategies to improve academic performance.

Work closely with the HOD Maths and senior leadership to achieve departmental targets and objectives.

Maintain department documentation, academic reports, and curriculum review records.

Support school inspections and ensure readiness for DSIB and other academic review processes.

Participate in parent communication, meetings, and wider school improvement initiatives.

Ideal Profile

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics or a related field is required.

Teaching qualification such as B.Ed. is highly preferred.

Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in a similar academic coordination role is required.

Strong knowledge of British curriculum teaching standards is essential.

Knowledge and exposure to DSIB Inspection Frameworks is mandatory.

Strong classroom observation, mentoring, and teacher development skills.

Excellent English communication and leadership abilities.

Ability to conduct professional development sessions and team teaching effectively.
