The Primary Teacher - Charter School will support students through high-quality classroom teaching, thoughtful lesson planning, accurate assessment, and strong pastoral care. The role requires a clear understanding of curriculum expectations, the ability to create a motivating classroom environment, and a commitment to helping Emirati students achieve successful academic and personal outcomes. Working within Al Ghad Charter School, the teacher will contribute to a learning culture built around excitement, challenge, empowerment, collaboration, and whole-child development.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver inspiring lessons that help students succeed and achieve the best possible learning outcomes.
* Work collaboratively with fellow teachers to plan engaging lessons that meet curriculum requirements and support student progress.
* Organize classroom provision, learning resources, and displays to create a positive, purposeful, and engaging learning environment.
* Plan, prepare, and present sessions that meet the needs of the full ability range within the class.
* Motivate pupils through enthusiastic, imaginative, and student-centred teaching.
* Demonstrate a clear understanding of the curriculum and use it to guide lesson planning, assessment, and classroom practice.
* Observe and assess students in line with school assessment procedures and use the findings to improve teaching and support.
* Take responsibility for the progress of the class, using assessment data to influence planning, provision, and intervention.
* Meet requirements for recording student development through Target Tracker and other approved school systems.
* Provide clear feedback to parents and caretakers about student progress, achievement, wellbeing, and next steps during Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings.
* Reflect on classroom provision, sessions taught, student progress, and curriculum coverage, making practical adjustments where required.
* Meet with professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists when student support requires wider input.
* Embed Teacher and Learner DNA language, attitudes, and expectations throughout classroom routines and curriculum delivery.
* Follow the school’s behaviour policy and manage classes using approaches that inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils.
* Maintain positive relationships with students while exercising appropriate authority and acting decisively when needed.
* Set high expectations for behaviour, self-control, independence, effort, and respect across all learning activities.
* Serve as a positive role model by consistently demonstrating the attitudes, values, and behaviour expected of pupils.
* Work with parents to support student happiness, wellbeing, and the best possible academic outcomes.
* Cooperate with curriculum support staff where applicable to strengthen children’s development and classroom inclusion.
* Participate in curriculum action groups by supporting planning, assessment, resources, and special events linked to the team.
* Support school events, outings, activities, and enrichment opportunities, including those that may take place during evenings or weekends.
* Communicate effectively with parents and caretakers through school systems and processes such as CPOMS where appropriate.
* Make a positive contribution to the wider life, ethos, and community spirit of the school.
* Run a weekly extracurricular activity each term to support student interests and wider development.
* Carry out duties as directed and in line with school policies, safeguarding expectations, and professional standards.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related subject with a recognized teaching qualification.
* Relevant teaching experience within a primary, elementary, charter school, or similar classroom setting.
* Clear understanding of curriculum delivery, classroom planning, assessment practice, and student progress tracking.
* Ability to plan engaging lessons that support different learning needs, abilities, and confidence levels.
* Experience using Target Tracker or similar assessment and progress monitoring systems is an advantage.
* Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, support staff, leaders, and parents.
* Good communication skills at all levels within a diverse school community.
* Commitment to developing positive relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and wider school stakeholders.
* Strong classroom management skills with a calm, consistent, and encouraging approach.
* Reflective teaching style with the ability to adjust planning and classroom provision based on student progress.
