Role Context
The Primary Teacher - Key Stage will join GEMS Founders School, Al Mizhar and support young learners through high-quality teaching in Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2. The role focuses on building strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, inquiry, creativity, social development, and confidence while following the National Curriculum for England. The successful teacher will create a positive and inclusive classroom where students are encouraged to grow, flourish, and practise mindfulness through meaningful learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging Primary lessons aligned with the National Curriculum for England.
* Teach Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2 students using creative, structured, and age-appropriate learning strategies.
* Build strong foundations in English, mathematics, science, humanities, creative learning, communication, and personal development.
* Create a warm, inclusive, and purposeful classroom where students feel safe, motivated, and ready to learn.
* Use assessment information to monitor progress, identify learning gaps, and provide timely support or extension.
* Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of students with varied abilities, learning styles, language backgrounds, and confidence levels.
* Promote positive behaviour, independence, curiosity, collaboration, and respectful classroom routines.
* Integrate mindfulness, wellbeing, and reflective habits into classroom practice where appropriate.
* Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and school leaders regarding student progress and support needs.
* Collaborate with year group teams to plan lessons, share resources, review outcomes, and improve teaching practice.
* Support school events, extra-curricular activities, community initiatives, assemblies, and enrichment opportunities.
* Maintain accurate records of student learning, attendance, progress, feedback, and classroom observations.
* Engage in professional development through GEMS training, BSO-linked pathways, and reflective teaching practice.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor of Education in Primary Education or a relevant degree with PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent teaching qualification.
* Experience teaching Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2 in the National Curriculum for England.
* Strong understanding of primary pedagogy, classroom routines, assessment, and child development.
* Proven ability to deliver outstanding learning and teaching.
* Creative and enthusiastic approach to classroom learning and wider school life.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working closely with colleagues, students, and parents.
* Commitment to continuous improvement, professional reflection, and high teaching standards.
* Ability to create an inclusive learning environment where every child is supported and challenged.
* Willingness to contribute to extra-curricular programmes, school events, and community-based initiatives.
