Role Context
The Psychology Teacher - Secondary Education will join GEMS Founders School, Dubai for the August 2026 academic year and support learners through high-quality Psychology teaching across relevant levels. The role focuses on developing analytical thinking, research awareness, ethical understanding, written evaluation, and curiosity about human behaviour. The successful teacher will contribute to a positive school culture where students are encouraged to grow, flourish, and succeed while preparing for future academic pathways and real-world understanding.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging Psychology lessons that develop subject knowledge, critical thinking, analysis, and evaluation skills.
* Teach key Psychology concepts including human behaviour, cognition, development, social psychology, research methods, mental processes, and ethical considerations.
* Support students in building strong written responses, evidence-based arguments, data interpretation, and exam-focused skills.
* Create an inclusive and stimulating classroom where students feel confident to question, discuss, reflect, and apply psychological ideas.
* Use creative teaching approaches, case studies, real-world examples, discussion, and technology to make learning relevant and engaging.
* Monitor student progress through assessment data, classwork, written tasks, questioning, feedback, and formal review.
* Provide timely support and targeted intervention for students who require additional help or extension.
* Differentiate learning to meet varied student abilities, learning styles, language needs, and academic aspirations.
* Share exemplary teaching practices with colleagues and contribute to department improvement.
* Maintain high expectations for student behaviour, participation, academic honesty, and learning outcomes.
* Communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and school leaders regarding progress and support needs.

Ideal Profile
* BEd or Bachelor\'s degree majoring in Psychology, or equivalent qualification.
* PGCE with QTS in Psychology is an advantage.
* Proven experience teaching Psychology across all relevant levels.
* Strong subject knowledge with the ability to explain complex psychological concepts clearly.
* Proven track record of providing outstanding learning and teaching.
* Ability to share exemplary teaching practices and contribute to collaborative improvement.
* Creative and enthusiastic approach to classroom teaching and wider school life.
