Role Context
The Science Teacher - Secondary Curriculum will support strong academic outcomes by delivering engaging lessons, assessing student performance and responding
to individual learning needs. The position contributes to the school\'s Grow, Flourish and Succeed vision through exemplary classroom practice, collaborative planning and active participation in extracurricular and community programmes.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the school\'s curriculum and academic expectations.
* Monitor student attainment and evaluate progress through classwork, assignments, projects and formal assessments.
* Identify learning gaps and provide timely intervention, guidance and additional academic support.
* Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment for students with varied abilities and learning needs.
* Use assessment evidence to refine teaching strategies and improve student outcomes.
* Share effective teaching methods, resources and classroom practices with colleagues.
* Collaborate with department leaders, teaching teams and senior leadership to support a cohesive educational experience.
* Maintain accurate records of student achievement, progress and intervention activities.
* Provide clear and constructive feedback that helps students understand how to improve.
* Build productive relationships with students, parents and colleagues through professional communication.
* Contribute to curriculum planning, resource development and departmental improvement initiatives.
* Use educational technology and suitable digital resources to strengthen classroom instruction.

* Bachelor of Education or a bachelor\'s degree supported by PGCE, PGDE or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
* Proven experience teaching at secondary level.

* Strong knowledge of curriculum planning, classroom instruction and student assessment.
* Ability to provide effective intervention for students requiring additional support.
