Role Context
The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in maintaining the financial health of the school by overseeing accounting operations, ensuring compliance with financial standards, and supporting strategic decision-making. This position works closely with school leadership to manage budgets, financial controls, reporting accuracy, and day-to-day accounting efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily accounting operations including ledgers, reconciliations, receivables, payables, and financial reporting.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements with accuracy and compliance.
Monitor school budgets, expense controls, and financial planning activities to support management decisions.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, UAE financial regulations, and internal financial policies.
Handle payroll coordination, vendor payments, invoicing, and fee-related financial transactions where required.
Prepare audit schedules and support internal and external audit processes.
Maintain accurate financial documentation, records, and reporting systems.
Provide management with financial analysis, forecasting, and performance insights.
Coordinate with school administration and leadership for budget approvals and operational planning.
Monitor cash flow and support efficient fund management across school operations.
Assist in improving financial systems, controls, and accounting procedures for better efficiency.
Ensure confidentiality and accuracy in all financial and reporting activities.
Ideal Profile
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or a related field is mandatory.
Professional certifications such as CMA or ACCA will be a strong advantage.
Previous experience in a similar accounting role within the UAE is highly preferred.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, reporting standards, and financial controls.
Experience in school finance or education sector accounting is an added advantage.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
High level of attention to detail and organizational ability.
Professional attitude with strong ethics and confidentiality standards.
