Role Context
The Senior Technician - Electrical Maintenance will help maintain effective operation of electrical systems and equipment across a large industrial plant by executing scheduled preventive maintenance, handling breakdown repairs, supervising technicians and contractors, controlling isolation certificates, and supporting safe power restoration activities. The position requires strong field discipline, practical electrical troubleshooting ability, accurate maintenance records, and close coordination with supervisors, HSE staff, engineering teams, project teams, vendors, contractors, and ADNOC LNG counterparts when power availability or blackout recovery support is required.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and carry out electrical maintenance, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and breakdown repair of HV and LV electrical systems and equipment.
* Issue and control isolation certificates and electrical work permits in accordance with company safety regulations and electrical network operating rules.
* Perform switching and isolation of electrical systems and equipment up to 33kV in line with approved procedures and safety requirements.
* Repair various types of electrical equipment by identifying faults, replacing defective parts, arranging required tools and materials, and testing completed work.
* Supervise planned and breakdown maintenance work performed by electrical technicians and contractor personnel.
* Ensure electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance activities comply with company specifications, standards, procedures, and regulations.
* Identify required spare parts, suppliers, tools, and materials for repair and maintenance tasks.
* Initiate material requisitions for stock replenishment to maintain adequate store supplies and spare parts for electrical maintenance work.
* Carry out preventive and routine maintenance on electrical equipment as instructed by the Electrical Maintenance Supervisor.
* Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance work, including work orders, maintenance logs, fault descriptions, materials used, labor time, and test results.
* Update and improve maintenance checklists, procedures, guidelines, and field work practices where improvement opportunities are identified.
* Support new project activities, upgraded equipment installation, performance follow-up, and technical issue resolution during commissioning or modification work.
* Implement and comply with relevant functional policies, processes, systems, standards, and procedures to achieve operational objectives.
* Provide on-the-job training to support competency-based development programs for UAE Nationalization.
* Maintain tools, safety gear, and company-provided equipment in safe and working condition.
* Arrange repair or replacement of tools and safety equipment that are damaged, unsafe, or not fit for use.
* Complete maintenance jobs within assigned time standards and inform the Maintenance Supervisor when extra resources are required.
* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in operating procedures, functional processes, machinery, equipment, and maintenance methods.
* Comply with HSE policies, procedures, controls, applicable legislation, sustainability guidelines, and ADNOC Code of Practices.
* Participate in emergency response duties as a team member when required.
* Maintain clean and safe housekeeping before, during, and after maintenance work in line with hygiene and worksite standards.
* Collect field technical data and provide input for section progress reports and management updates.
* Provide input for method statements and initiate near miss reports to improve maintenance safety and risk control.
* Coordinate with team members, supervisors, line managers, HSE staff, engineering teams, project teams, vendors, and contractors.
* Communicate with ADNOC LNG counterparts for power availability and safe power restoration during blackout situations.
Ideal Profile
* Diploma in Electrical discipline or Secondary School Certificate with a vocational trade certificate in a relevant electrical field.
* Minimum 6 years of relevant experience maintaining electrical equipment within a large industrial plant.
* Experience in the Oil and Energy sector or oil and gas plant environment is preferred.
* Strong practical knowledge of HV and LV electrical systems, power network equipment, isolation procedures, switching operations, and electrical work permits.
* Able to perform switching and isolation of electrical equipment up to 33kV safely and according to approved procedures.
* Skilled in electrical troubleshooting, breakdown repair, preventive maintenance, routine maintenance, equipment testing, and fault diagnosis.
* Experience supervising electrical technicians and contractor personnel during maintenance and installation work.
* Good understanding of maintenance work orders, maintenance logs, test result records, fault reports, and technical documentation.
* Knowledge of material requisitions, spare parts planning, store stock replenishment, and maintenance tools management.
* Strong commitment to HSE compliance, emergency response, housekeeping, near miss reporting, and safe work practices.
* Ability to support method statements, maintenance checklists, procedure improvements, and technical data collection.
* Proactive and logical approach to solving field maintenance challenges.
* Able to coordinate with supervisors, HSE staff, engineering teams, project teams, vendors, contractors, and power network stakeholders.
