Key Responsibilities

* Deliver Spanish lessons that inspire students, encourage participation, and support strong learning outcomes.
* Plan, prepare, and present engaging classroom sessions that meet curriculum expectations and suit different ability levels.
* Create a positive learning environment through suitable resources, classroom displays, and well-structured activities.
* Work closely with fellow teachers to plan lessons, share ideas, and support consistent curriculum delivery.
* Observe, assess, and record student development in line with school assessment standards and Target Tracker requirements.
* Use assessment data to adjust planning, improve classroom provision, and support targeted student interventions.
* Maintain effective communication with parents and carers regarding student achievement, wellbeing, and progress.
* Manage classroom behaviour confidently using school policies and age-appropriate approaches.
* Support students whose first language is not English through inclusive teaching strategies and clear communication.
* Collaborate with curriculum support staff and external specialists where needed to support student development.
* Contribute to curriculum action groups, school events, outings, activities, and wider school improvement initiatives.
* Use school systems such as CPOMS appropriately when communicating or recording student wellbeing matters.
* Run a weekly extra-curricular activity each term and contribute positively to the wider life of the school.

Ideal Profile

* Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish, Modern Foreign Languages, Education, or a related subject.
* PGCE or another recognized teaching qualification.
* Minimum 1-2 years of teaching experience in a school environment.
* Strong understanding of curriculum planning, lesson delivery, student assessment, and classroom management.
* Previous experience teaching students whose first language is not English is highly valued.
* Passionate about language learning, cultural awareness, and the development of the whole child.
* Professional, respectful, and committed to student wellbeing and safeguarding.
