Role Context
The Teacher - Curriculum and Digital Learning will support student achievement through well-planned instruction, accurate assessment
Key Responsibilities
* Promote the GEMS Core Values and maintain high professional standards throughout the school day.
* Deliver the required curriculum using accurate, current and relevant subject knowledge.
* Plan motivating lessons that address curriculum objectives and measurable student outcomes.
* Prepare suitable teaching materials and adapt classroom activities for different learning styles.
* Maintain lesson plans, annual curriculum records, attendance information, teaching resources and assessment schedules.
* Follow GEMS Education policies, procedures, safeguarding requirements and codes of conduct.
* Adjust teaching approaches for late-entering students, English language learners, students with lower academic attainment and gifted learners.
* Set, mark and evaluate classwork, homework, projects and formal assessments.
* Record and report student development, attainment and academic progress accurately.
* Use assessment evidence to modify instruction and meet individual learning requirements.
* Apply media, educational technology and digital resources effectively in the classroom.
* Promote student well-being and offer appropriate guidance on educational matters.
* Communicate with Ministry of Education officials and other external representatives when required.
* Participate in appraisal, performance management and Continuing Professional Development activities.
* Work with colleagues to develop teaching materials, curriculum resources, courses of study and pastoral arrangements.
* Contribute to co-curricular and extracurricular programmes and lead activities when appropriate.
* Share teaching ideas, resources and classroom experience to strengthen collaborative practice.
* Monitor student conduct and maintain a safe, respectful and productive learning environment.
* Use positive behaviour strategies to encourage self-discipline and manage disruption.
* Model cultural awareness, mutual understanding and enthusiasm for lifelong learning.
* Help organise inter-house competitions, concerts, school plays, prize ceremonies and other school functions.
* Meet parents regularly and provide confidential, accurate updates on student progress.
* Build positive professional relationships with students, colleagues, parents and school leaders.
* Attend staff meetings and contribute to committees when requested.
* Support school priorities that may require additional effort beyond normal classroom hours.
* Complete other reasonable duties assigned by direct or dotted-line managers and supervisors.
