Role Context
The Teacher - Primary Education will support learning within Al Danah Charter School, an American Curriculum school in Abu Dhabi focused on strong teaching practice, student progress, and national education priorities for Emirati learners. The role requires effective lesson delivery, collaborative planning, data-informed teaching, cultural awareness, and close partnership with parents and support staff. By creating purposeful classroom experiences and responding to individual learning needs, the teacher will help students build confidence, achieve strong outcomes, and thrive in a dynamic school community.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality and effective lessons that inspire students to succeed and achieve the best possible outcomes.
* Plan, prepare, and teach engaging lessons aligned with American Curriculum expectations and school learning priorities.
* Participate actively in a dynamic and innovative planning team that supports curriculum delivery and student progress.
* Use assessment data effectively to inform lesson planning, differentiated groupings, intervention, and classroom support.
* Create learning experiences that excite, challenge, and empower students across different abilities and learning needs.
* Communicate clearly and professionally with students, parents, colleagues, school leaders, and support staff.
* Maintain a professional and culturally appropriate approach in all areas of school life.
* Build positive relationships with all members of the school community while respecting the values and culture of the UAE.
* Work closely with parents to support children’s happiness, wellbeing, academic progress, and personal development.
* Collaborate with curriculum support staff where applicable to meet individual student needs.
* Support an inclusive classroom environment where students feel safe, respected, motivated, and ready to learn.
* Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to improve learning outcomes.
* Encourage student independence, participation, responsibility, and positive classroom behaviour.
* Contribute to a collaborative school culture by sharing resources, ideas, and effective teaching practices with colleagues.
* Support school priorities linked to the National Agenda and the development of Emirati students.
* Maintain accurate records of learning, progress, and classroom observations as required by school systems.
* Follow school policies, safeguarding expectations, behaviour procedures, and professional standards at all times.
* Contribute positively to wider school activities, events, and initiatives that strengthen the school community.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related subject with PGCE or another recognized teaching qualification.
* Minimum 1-2 years of teaching experience is preferred.
* Experience teaching within an American Curriculum school will be an advantage.
* Strong understanding of curriculum planning, classroom teaching, assessment, and differentiated instruction.
* Ability to use student data to guide planning and support targeted learning groups.
* Previous experience working with Emirati students or within a UAE school environment will be beneficial.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with parents, colleagues, students, and school leaders.
* Genuine respect for UAE culture, regional values, and the wider school community.
* Passion for teaching and commitment to supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of every child.
* Positive, professional, and solution-focused attitude toward school life.
* Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, curriculum support staff, and leadership teams.
