Role Context
The Teacher - Primary Education will support learning within a large and thriving US Curriculum Charter School in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on creating engaging classroom experiences, using assessment data to guide planning, building strong relationships with students and parents, and helping children achieve strong academic and personal outcomes. By working collaboratively with colleagues and support professionals, the teacher will contribute to a student-centered environment where learners are encouraged to aspire, believe, and achieve.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver inspiring lessons that help students succeed and achieve the best possible learning outcomes.
* Plan, prepare, and present engaging classroom sessions aligned with US Curriculum expectations.
* Organize classroom provision, learning resources, and displays to create a positive, purposeful, and stimulating learning environment.
* Support the full ability range within the class through differentiated planning, flexible grouping, and responsive teaching.
* Motivate pupils through enthusiastic, imaginative, and student-centered teaching approaches.
* Work alongside fellow teachers to plan lessons that meet curriculum requirements and school improvement priorities.
* Communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, school leaders, and support staff.
* Build positive relationships with all members of the school community.
* Liaise with colleagues and work flexibly to support teaching, learning, assessment, and student wellbeing.
* Work with parents to support children’s happiness, confidence, academic progress, and personal development.
* Collaborate with curriculum support staff where applicable to support children’s learning needs.
* Observe and assess students in line with school assessment procedures.
* Take responsibility for class progress and use assessment data to guide future planning, provision, and intervention.
* Record student development using Target Tracker and other approved school systems.
* Provide meaningful feedback to parents and carers during Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings.
* Reflect on classroom provision, lessons taught, progress made, and student needs, then adapt planning and learning environments accordingly.
* Meet with professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists when required.
* Embed Al Mamoura Academy Teacher and Learner DNA language, attitudes, and expectations across the curriculum.
* Promote a collaborative, student-centered classroom culture that supports curiosity, confidence, independence, and achievement.
* Contribute to the wider school ethos by demonstrating respect, collaboration, passion, integrity, and excellence.
* Support school improvement initiatives, stakeholder engagement, and continuous development in teaching practice.
* Follow school policies, safeguarding expectations, behaviour procedures, and professional standards at all times.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related subject with PGCE or another recognized teaching qualification.
* Experience teaching primary students within a US Curriculum or international school environment is preferred.
* Strong understanding of curriculum planning, classroom delivery, assessment, and differentiated instruction.
* Ability to support learners from different ability levels and backgrounds.
* Experience using assessment data to inform planning, intervention, and student progress tracking.
* Strong classroom management skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils.
* Good communication skills with students, parents, colleagues, and school leaders.
* Commitment to building positive relationships across the school community.
* Reflective teaching approach with willingness to adapt practice and contribute to continuous improvement.
