Role Context

The Teacher - Primary will deliver high-quality classroom learning within a British curriculum school environment in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on planning meaningful lessons, supporting a wide range of student abilities, using assessment data to guide learning, and building strong relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and support staff. The teacher will help create a warm, inclusive, and engaging classroom where children feel confident, motivated, respected, and ready to achieve strong outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

* Deliver inspiring primary lessons that help students achieve strong academic, social, and personal outcomes.
* Plan, prepare, and present learning sessions that meet British curriculum expectations and support the full ability range within the class.
* Organise classroom provision, learning resources, and displays to create a positive, stimulating, and engaging learning environment.
* Motivate pupils through enthusiastic, imaginative, and age-appropriate teaching approaches.
* Work alongside fellow teachers to plan engaging lessons and ensure curriculum requirements are met.
* Build positive relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and all members of the school community.
* Liaise with colleagues and work flexibly to support curriculum planning, student progress, and school priorities.
* Work with parents to support children’s happiness, wellbeing, academic progress, and overall development.
* Collaborate with curriculum support staff where required to support children’s learning needs.
* Observe and assess children in line with school assessment expectations.
* Take responsibility for the progress of the class and use assessment information to influence future planning, provision, and intervention.
* Record student development using Target Tracker and other school-approved assessment systems.
* Provide clear feedback to parents and carers during Parent Teacher Conferences and other school meetings.
* Follow the school behaviour policy and manage classes using approaches appropriate to student needs.
* Maintain positive relationships with pupils while promoting self-control, independence, respect, and high expectations.
* Act as a positive role model by demonstrating the values, attitudes, and behaviour expected of students.
* Reflect on classroom practice, lessons taught, student progress, and learning environments, then adapt planning and teaching accordingly.
* Meet with professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists when required.
* Contribute to curriculum action groups by supporting planning, assessment, resources, and special events.
* Support school events, outings, activities, and community initiatives, including events that may take place outside normal school hours.
* Communicate effectively with parents and carers about student achievement and wellbeing using school systems such as CPOMS where appropriate.
* Make a positive contribution to the wider life, values, and ethos of the school.
* Run a weekly extracurricular activity each term.
* Maintain safeguarding awareness and follow school policies that protect and promote the welfare of children and young people.

Ideal Profile

* Bachelor’s Degree in a related subject with PGCE or another recognised teaching qualification.
* Documents must be attested.
* Strong understanding of the British curriculum and effective primary classroom practice.
* Ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of different learners.
* Strong communication skills with students, parents, colleagues, and support teams.
* Commitment to building positive relationships across the school community.
* Good classroom management skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils.
* Ability to use assessment data to plan learning, track progress, and support intervention.
* Reflective teaching approach with willingness to adapt planning and classroom provision to improve student outcomes.
