Key Responsibilities
* Teach Year 3 to Year 5 students through engaging, well-planned, and age-appropriate primary lessons.
* Deliver high-quality KS2 learning that supports academic progress, curiosity, creativity, confidence, respect, and kindness.
* Plan inclusive classroom activities that meet different learning needs and help every student achieve strong outcomes.
* Use assessment evidence, classroom feedback, and student progress data to guide teaching and provide timely support.
* Create a positive and safe classroom culture where students are encouraged to ask questions, explore ideas, and take responsibility for learning.
* Bring the curriculum to life through practical learning, outdoor education, sustainability themes, and creative project-based activities.
* Work closely with colleagues to plan lessons, share resources, strengthen curriculum delivery, and support school improvement.
* Communicate effectively with parents about student progress, wellbeing, behaviour, and learning development.
* Encourage students to build independent learning habits, collaboration skills, resilience, communication, and problem-solving ability.
* Contribute to extracurricular activities, school events, community programmes, and wider student enrichment.
* Follow safeguarding expectations, school policies, professional standards, and GEMS Education values at all times.
Ideal Profile
* B.Ed, Bachelor’s degree with PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent recognised teaching qualification in Primary Education or a relevant subject.
* Proven experience teaching Year 3 to Year 5, KS2, or an equivalent primary age group.
* Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum and effective pedagogical practice.
* Track record of delivering excellent classroom practice and positive student outcomes.
* Creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching inside and outside the classroom.
* Ability to create inclusive learning experiences that support students with different strengths, needs, and learning styles.
* Excellent interpersonal skills for working closely with students, parents, colleagues, and school leaders.
* Passion for inspiring young learners and supporting their academic, personal, and social development.
