Position Overview
A-Level Economics Teacher in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is a full-time Education role for a well-qualified and immediately available teacher with strong subject knowledge, A-Level curriculum exposure, and the ability to prepare students effectively for Economics examinations. This position is suitable for an experienced educator who can deliver engaging lessons, improve academic outcomes, and support students through structured teaching, assessment, and classroom guidance.
Role Context
The A-Level Economics Teacher will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing Economics lessons in line with A-Level examination requirements. The role involves preparing schemes of work, developing lesson plans, setting assessment tasks, tracking student progress, and promoting higher order thinking, critical analysis, problem-solving, and active learning. The teacher will also work closely with students, parents, and colleagues to support academic growth, student wellbeing, and a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Teach Economics to A-Level students and prepare learners for external examinations.
* Plan and deliver well-structured, engaging, and curriculum-aligned Economics lessons.
* Prepare schemes of work, yearly assessment plans, weekly lesson plans, and daily teaching materials.
* Design assessment tasks that measure student understanding, subject knowledge, analytical ability, and exam readiness.
* Monitor student performance and provide constructive feedback to support academic improvement.
* Promote active learning, critical thinking, problem-solving, economic reasoning, and higher order thinking skills.
* Support students in developing strong subject knowledge, analytical writing, data interpretation, and exam technique.
* Manage class teacher responsibilities with a focus on student progress, discipline, and knowledge enrichment.
* Contribute to raising teaching standards and improving learning outcomes across the classroom.
* Use educational technology, digital resources, and IT tools to enhance teaching and learning.
* Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding progress, expectations, and academic support.
* Work as a collaborative team member within the department and wider school community.
* Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
* Safeguard and promote the welfare, wellbeing, and personal development of students.
* Participate in school activities, meetings, planning sessions, and academic improvement initiatives as required.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Education, or a closely related subject.
* Teaching qualification such as B.Ed., PGCE, or equivalent is preferred.
* Proven experience teaching A-Level Economics.
* Strong understanding of A-Level Economics curriculum, examination standards, assessment methods, and student preparation strategies.
* Excellent subject knowledge with the ability to explain complex economic concepts clearly.
* Strong classroom management and lesson planning skills.
* Excellent IT skills and confidence using educational technology for teaching and assessment.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with students, parents, and colleagues.
* Ability to motivate learners and create a positive academic impact.
