Role Context
The Advanced Skills Teacher plays a critical role in strengthening teaching standards across the school by supporting staff development and improving classroom practices. This position bridges teaching and leadership by influencing curriculum delivery, assessment quality, and student performance outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Support performance management processes including target setting and reviews
* Work with departments to monitor lesson planning and curriculum delivery
* Review and enhance schemes of work to align with academic goals
* Contribute to attendance monitoring and student engagement strategies
* Analyse assessment data to identify and address underachievement
* Deliver workshops for students, including targeted support sessions
* Provide mentoring and coaching to early career teachers

Ideal Profile
* Bachelor degree with PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification
* Strong teaching background with evidence of outstanding classroom practice
* Experience mentoring teachers or leading professional development initiatives
* Ability to analyse student data and implement improvement strategies
* Strong communication and leadership skills
* Passion for continuous improvement and collaborative working
* Experience in British curriculum schools is beneficial
