Role Context
The teacher will support native Arabic speakers and students learning Arabic as an additional language.
This requires adapting content, explanation and assessment to different levels of linguistic confidence while maintaining curriculum expectations. Consistent planning, constructive feedback and accurate achievement records will help students develop communication skills and make measurable academic progress.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan Arabic lessons in accordance with departmental schemes of work.
* Deliver the Arabic A curriculum for native-speaking students.
* Teach Arabic B content to non-native learners at appropriate proficiency levels.
* Follow applicable curriculum standards and examination specifications.
* Use the school\'s Teacher Planner or approved system to document lesson preparation.
* Define clear learning objectives and success criteria for each lesson.
* Select teaching approaches suited to students with different language abilities.
* Create classroom activities that develop reading, writing, speaking and listening.
* Teach lessons in accordance with the school\'s Policy for Learning.
* Establish an inclusive environment where students participate confidently in Arabic.
* Check understanding throughout lessons and adjust instruction when required.
* Mark classwork according to the department\'s agreed policy.
* Provide feedback that helps students recognize strengths and address language gaps.
* Assess learning through suitable formative and summative methods.
* Maintain complete and accurate records of attainment and progress.
* Use assessment findings to plan intervention, extension and revision activities.
* Set and mark home learning in accordance with school policy.
* Ensure students use their planners properly to organize assigned work.
* Prepare learners thoroughly for internal and external examinations.
* Develop revision materials and examination-practice activities.
* Communicate relevant progress information to students, colleagues and families.
* Contribute to the development and revision of departmental schemes of work.

Ideal Profile
Candidates should hold a bachelor\'s degree in Arabic, education or another relevant discipline. The ability to teach both native and non-native Arabic learners is essential. Two years of relevant school teaching experience will be an advantage.
