The Chemistry Teacher plays a key role in developing students’ scientific understanding, analytical thinking, and laboratory confidence across secondary education. Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging and high-quality Chemistry lessons across secondary levels following the National Curriculum for England
* Prepare lesson plans and practical activities that strengthen scientific understanding and problem-solving skills
* Teach GCSE and A-Level Chemistry with strong focus on academic achievement and examination success
* Assess student progress regularly and use data to improve learning outcomes and lesson differentiation
* Maintain accurate academic records, reports, and performance tracking for students
* Create an inclusive classroom environment that supports student confidence and academic growth
* Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum plans and share best teaching practices
* Apply evidence-informed teaching methods aligned with cognitive science principles
* Participate in departmental meetings, extracurricular activities, and wider school initiatives
* Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and academic achievement
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor of Education or Bachelor’s degree with PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent teaching qualification
* Proven qualified experience teaching GCSE and A-Level Chemistry
* Strong subject knowledge in Chemistry and secondary science education
* Ability to share exemplary teaching practices within a high-performing department
* Creative and enthusiastic teaching style both inside and outside the classroom
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues
