Position Overview
Aldar Education is seeking a UAE National Classroom Assistant to join Mamoura British Academy in Abu Dhabi, commencing in August 2026. The successful candidate will support individual pupils and groups inside and outside the classroom, helping them participate fully in academic activities while promoting their social, emotional and physical wellbeing.
The role involves delivering teacher-directed instruction, monitoring pupils’ work and progress, supporting positive behaviour and assisting with classroom administration. Candidates should demonstrate professionalism, cultural awareness and a strong commitment to safeguarding and educating the whole child.

Role Context

The Classroom Assistant will work closely with class teachers to provide academic and pastoral support. The position also contributes to student supervision, record maintenance, classroom organisation and the implementation of individual education programmes.
Key Responsibilities
Support individual pupils and groups inside and outside the classroom.
Help students participate fully in lessons and school-day activities.
Promote pupils’ social, emotional and physical wellbeing.
Provide group or individual instruction as directed by the class teacher.
Demonstrate instructional activities and reinforce concepts introduced during lessons.
Monitor assigned work and check or correct pupils’ work while it is in progress.
Help pupils remain focused, organised and engaged with classroom activities.
Praise student achievements and report progress to the responsible teacher.
Assist with implementing individual education programmes for identified pupils.
Monitor pupils’ progress and communicate relevant observations to teachers.
Support students with emotional, behavioural or additional learning needs.
Help pupils develop positive social skills, confidence and independence.
Assist class teachers with maintaining accurate pupil records.
Check and record attendance according to school procedures.
Prepare classroom materials and present displays of pupils’ work.
Provide photocopying and other administrative support related to teaching.
Reorganise classroom resources and learning materials at the end of the day.
Supervise pupils in classrooms and other designated school locations.
Promote pupils’ self-esteem and contribute to positive behaviour practices.
Address misbehaviour consistently and in accordance with school policies.
Participate in extracurricular activities and wider school initiatives.
Remain proactive in all matters concerning health, safety and student welfare.
Follow safeguarding requirements, relevant legislation and school procedures.
Support the school’s values, educational objectives and inclusive learning environment.
Complete other reasonable duties assigned in support of students and teachers.
Ideal Profile
UAE National with a minimum secondary school certificate or bachelor’s degree.
At least two years of experience working within a school environment.
English-language proficiency appropriate for supporting the school curriculum.
Previous experience supporting students whose first language is not English.
Passion for education and commitment to developing the whole child.
Professional and considerate approach to children’s wellbeing.
Recent and consistent involvement in extracurricular activities.
Respect for all members of the school community regardless of position, gender, age or ethnicity.
Positive, collaborative and solution-focused approach to work.
Ability to obtain a satisfactory enhanced DBS check or police clearance.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Available to commence employment in August 2026.
