Position Overview
Head of Inclusion in Abu Dhabi, UAE is a senior Education opportunity for an experienced SEN leader who can drive inclusive practice, lead learning support provision, and improve outcomes for students of determination. This role is suited to a qualified teacher with strong inclusion leadership experience, excellent data awareness, and the ability to guide staff, families, external specialists, and school teams within an American Curriculum environment.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead and promote inclusive education across the school, ensuring students of determination
* Guide teachers and school staff on SEN strategies, differentiated learning, intervention planning, and inclusive classroom practice.
* Line manage the inclusion team and inclusion assistants to maintain high standards of student support.
* Maintain accurate SEN registers, IEPs, care plans, intervention records, progress data, and provision documentation.
* Review whole-school assessment data to identify priority students, learning gaps, and targeted intervention needs.
* Plan, deliver, and evaluate intervention programmes that respond to individual student requirements.
* Conduct assessments and support applications for access arrangements where required.
* Participate in admissions, evaluations, assessments, and transition planning for students of determination.
* Deliver training for colleagues, inclusion assistants, and families to strengthen school-wide inclusion practice.
* Liaise with external specialists, outside agencies, other schools, and educational bodies to improve student provision.
* Prepare documentation for ADEK or other relevant education authorities.
* Undertake co-teaching and support classroom teachers in delivering differentiated lessons.
* Contribute to the school pastoral committee and wider student wellbeing initiatives.
* Support positive behaviour, student self-esteem, and policy-aligned behaviour management across the school.
* Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, school policies, professional conduct, and relevant legislation.
Ideal Profile
* Qualified teacher with a recognised SEN qualification at Master’s level or external certification in a specialist SEN area.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in the field of SEN.
* Previous experience leading SEN, inclusion, or learning support in a primary or secondary school.
* Proven ability to lead special education teams and manage inclusion staff effectively.
* Strong experience developing high-quality IEPs, intervention plans, SEN registers, and progress tracking systems.
* Ability to identify a range of learning needs, developmental delays, and student support requirements.
* Experience administering standardised assessments to inform provision and intervention planning.
* Evidence of implementing strategic inclusion initiatives with measurable school impact.
* Confident using data to monitor student progress, attainment, access, and intervention effectiveness.
* Strong communication skills for working with families, teachers, leaders, external professionals, and authorities.
* Professional commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality, student wellbeing, and inclusive school culture.
* Positive leadership style with the ability to train, coach, and support colleagues across the school.
