Role Context
Digital design develops the ability to investigate problems, generate ideas, build solutions
and evaluate outcomes through technology. The teacher will guide students through structured design cycles while encouraging experimentation, responsible digital practice and independent thinking. The role also contributes to curriculum development across the IB Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan engaging secondary Digital Design lessons aligned with IB principles.
* Deliver inquiry-based learning that encourages investigation and creative problem-solving.
* Guide students through research, ideation, prototyping, testing and evaluation.
* Teach students to select and use digital tools appropriately for each project.
* Create authentic design challenges connected to real-world needs.
* Develop critical thinking through reflection, iteration and evidence-based decision-making.
* Establish an inclusive classroom where students feel confident testing new ideas.
* Differentiate instruction for English-language learners, gifted students and those needing additional support.
* Integrate technology purposefully to improve learning and participation.
* Teach responsible, ethical and safe use of digital systems and content.
* Assess student work using relevant IB criteria and subject expectations.
* Maintain accurate records of achievement, progress and intervention.
* Provide feedback that helps students refine both their process and final design.
* Use assessment data to adapt teaching and personalize academic support.
* Prepare students for applicable MYP and DP assessments.
* Build portfolios or project records that demonstrate development over time.
* Collaborate with colleagues on IB-aligned units, resources and assessments.
* Support interdisciplinary learning where digital design can add meaningful value.
* Communicate student progress effectively with parents and school teams.
* Contribute to exhibitions, clubs, competitions and co-curricular programs.
* Participate in school events and community-based initiatives.
* Engage in professional learning related to IB education and emerging technology.
* Reflect on student outcomes and continuously strengthen classroom practice.

Ideal Profile
Applicants must hold a recognized degree-level teaching qualification such as a Bachelor of Education, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent, with an appropriate Digital Design specialization. A minimum of three years of demonstrated secondary teaching experience is required.
Previous experience in an IB school and familiarity with MYP or DP teaching are preferred but not essential. The successful candidate will combine technical confidence with imaginative teaching and a willingness to collaborate.
