The Drama Teacher plays a key role in shaping students’ creative confidence and performance abilities through structured theatre education and practical stage experience. Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality Drama lessons across relevant key stages with engaging and age-appropriate teaching methods
* Teach performance skills including acting, improvisation, voice work, movement, script interpretation, and stage presence
* Introduce students to classical theatre, contemporary drama, scriptwriting, and technical production concepts
* Direct school productions, performances, assemblies, and theatre-based extracurricular activities
* Create lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and learning outcomes
* Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback for continuous improvement
* Encourage participation in drama festivals, performances, competitions, and creative showcases
* Collaborate with music, arts, English, and other departments for interdisciplinary learning opportunities
* Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student creativity and confidence
* Engage with parents and school leadership to support student achievement and wellbeing
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor of Education or Bachelor’s degree with PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent teaching qualification
* Master’s degree or advanced qualification in Drama, Performing Arts, or Education is preferred
* Strong teaching experience in Drama from KS1 onwards
* Proven record of delivering outstanding classroom teaching and student engagement
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents, and colleagues
* Reflective, adaptable, and solution-focused teaching approach
* Passion for creative education and commitment to student-centered learning
* Willingness to actively contribute to extracurricular and community-based school activities
