Early Years Teacher - Primary Foundation

will contribute to the earliest stages of a student\'s educational journey by creating purposeful learning experiences that encourage curiosity, communication, independence, creativity, and confidence. The role combines strong Early Years pedagogy with the school\'s emphasis on personalised learning, technology integration, gamification, and future-focused education.

Working within the Pre-Prep and Prep environment, the teacher will help children build secure foundations in literacy, numeracy, science, computing, creative expression, and personal development. Collaboration with colleagues and families will be central to ensuring each learner receives appropriate challenge, support, and encouragement.

Key Responsibilities

* Plan and deliver engaging Early Years lessons that support age-appropriate academic, social, emotional, and physical development.
* Create personalised learning experiences that respond to individual strengths, developmental stages, and learning needs.
* Use play, inquiry, exploration, storytelling, practical activities, and structured learning to build strong foundational skills.
* Develop early literacy through reading, phonics, vocabulary, speaking, listening, and emergent writing activities.
* Strengthen early numeracy through practical problem-solving, pattern recognition, counting, comparison, and mathematical exploration.
* Integrate science, computing, creative arts, and technology into meaningful cross-curricular learning.
* Use gamification and appropriate digital tools to enhance engagement and reinforce key concepts.
* Observe and assess children\'s progress regularly and use evidence to shape future learning experiences.
* Maintain accurate records of attainment, development, intervention, and individual progress.
* Differentiate activities to support children with varying abilities, learning preferences, and developmental needs.
* Create a safe, stimulating, inclusive, and well-organised classroom environment.
* Build positive relationships with children and establish routines that encourage confidence, independence, kindness, and responsible behaviour.
* Communicate constructively with parents regarding development, progress, achievements, and areas requiring further support.
* Collaborate with teaching colleagues and share effective Early Years practice across the school.
* Participate in extracurricular activities, community events, and wider school initiatives.
* Reflect on teaching practice, respond positively to feedback, and contribute to continuous improvement across the Early Years provision.

Ideal Profile

Candidates should hold a BEd or a Bachelor\'s degree together with PGCE, PGDE, or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification. A Master\'s degree or equivalent postgraduate qualification is desirable.

Proven experience teaching Early Years is required, supported by a strong understanding of child development, early learning pedagogy, assessment, and inclusive classroom practice.

The successful candidate should demonstrate creativity, enthusiasm, and the ability to design learning experiences that combine academic foundations with exploration and play. A growth mindset is important, together with the ability to reflect on practice, solve problems constructively, and collaborate openly with colleagues.

Excellent interpersonal skills are essential for working closely with students, parents, and staff. Candidates should also show ambition for long-term professional growth and a willingness to contribute actively to extracurricular programmes and the wider school community.
