What You’ll Do
* Ensure the school complies with UAE health and safety laws, ADEK requirements, and GEMS Education policies
* Conduct risk assessments, audits, and inspections to identify hazards and implement preventive measures
* Develop and update emergency response plans, conducting drills for fire, disaster, and other scenarios
* Provide regular training sessions and Toolbox Talks (TBT) for staff and students on safety practices and equipment use
* Investigate incidents, prepare reports, and recommend measures to prevent recurrence
* Monitor cleanliness, maintenance, and safety standards across school facilities
* Maintain accurate health and safety records and submit reports using relevant systems, including ADPHC OSH reporting platforms
* Promote a proactive safety culture through communication, awareness, and engagement
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety (QFE 7) OR bachelor’s degree in another subject plus NEBOSH certification
* Additional qualifications such as Incident Investigation and Reporting, First Aid, Fire Safety, or OSH reporting systems are preferred
* Minimum 5 years of experience in health and safety, preferably in education or facilities management sectors
* Strong knowledge of UAE safety regulations, including ADEK standards
* Excellent communication, training, and reporting skills
* Ability to lead safety initiatives and work collaboratively with staff and management
