Role Context
The High Performance Sports Analyst plays a critical role in helping student-athletes reach their full potential through evidence-based performance tracking and strategic coaching support. This position combines sports science, athlete monitoring, performance reporting, and AI-driven technology to improve physical development, reduce performance risks, and support long-term athletic success. The role works closely with coaches, athletes, and families to deliver measurable improvements across the high-performance programme.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the collection, interpretation, and reporting of biometric, physiological, and performance data across high-performance athletes
* Manage video capture and performance analysis from fixtures, training sessions, and testing programmes
* Build and maintain custom dashboards using systems such as Power BI, TeamBuildr, VALD, and related performance platforms
* Track athlete wellbeing, physical load, attendance, behaviour, and performance patterns through structured reporting
* Work closely with coaches to create detailed athlete performance profiles and tailored development plans
* Deliver clear feedback and performance summaries to athletes, coaches, and parents
* Produce monthly reports highlighting performance trends, risk factors, and intervention opportunities
* Support Individual Athlete Plan reviews with detailed analytical insights and recommendations
* Create coaching content including technical breakdowns, tactical review clips, and athlete highlight reels
* Research and implement AI tools, player tracking systems, and auto-tagging technology to improve analysis quality
* Support athlete digital portfolios for scholarship applications and external sporting opportunities
* Ensure all performance systems remain compliant with safeguarding, confidentiality, and school data policies
Ideal Profile
* Degree in Sports Science, Performance Analysis, Data Science, or a related field
* Postgraduate qualification is desirable for advanced performance analysis roles
* Previous experience within school, academy, or professional sports environments
* Strong knowledge of athlete monitoring systems, workload management, and sports performance testing
* Proficiency with performance software such as HUDL, VALD, and similar analysis tools
* Experience using data visualization platforms such as Power BI for reporting and performance dashboards
* Strong ability to explain technical data clearly to coaches, athletes, and parents
* Passion for technology-driven athlete development and student wellbeing improvement
