The History Teacher will help students understand how evidence, perspectives

Key Responsibilities
* Plan coherent History lessons for students at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5.
* Align teaching with curriculum requirements and relevant examination specifications.
* Develop sequences of learning that build secure chronological and contextual understanding.
* Teach students to evaluate primary and secondary historical sources critically.
* Strengthen essay writing, evidence selection and argument construction.
* Use questioning and discussion to develop independent historical thinking.
* Adapt instruction and classroom resources for varied levels of readiness.
* Create engaging lessons that combine academic rigor with creativity.
* Apply evidence-based teaching methods to improve understanding and retention.
* Establish positive relationships that support participation and respectful debate.
* Use formative assessment to identify misconceptions and guide subsequent planning.
* Mark work consistently and provide feedback that leads to clear improvement.
* Maintain accurate records of attainment, progress and intervention.
* Prepare students thoroughly for internal assessments and external examinations.
