Role Context
The IB Art Teacher plays a key role in developing students’ creative expression, artistic confidence, and critical thinking skills through high-quality visual arts education. This position supports student growth by delivering engaging Art lessons, fostering inquiry-based learning, and helping learners achieve strong academic and creative outcomes within a world-class high school environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging and interactive IB Art lessons aligned with school curriculum standards and academic expectations
* Develop creative teaching strategies that inspire a love for Art and strengthen critical thinking skills
* Support students in developing artistic techniques, creative expression, and portfolio-based learning
* Ensure continuity in curriculum delivery across high school levels and maintain high academic standards
* Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and creative abilities of students
* Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that encourages curiosity, experimentation, and exploration
* Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback for artistic and academic improvement
* Collaborate with colleagues to create a strong and supportive learning environment
* Participate in parent-teacher conferences and maintain effective communication with families
* Contribute to school exhibitions, creative events, and wider school community initiatives
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor of Education degree or an initial degree with PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent teaching qualification in Art
* Proven experience teaching High School Art, preferably within an American or IB curriculum school
* Strong knowledge of inquiry-based learning and hands-on Art education
* Excellent classroom management and lesson planning skills
* Strong communication and collaboration abilities
* Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
* Passion for creativity, innovation, and student artistic development
* Commitment to continuous professional improvement and teaching excellence
* Strong understanding of IB philosophy and international school standards preferred
