The IB Art Teacher plays a key role in helping students develop technical skills, creative confidence, and independent artistic thinking through high-quality visual arts education. This position supports both academic achievement and personal expression by delivering inquiry-based learning experiences that connect art theory, practical work, and real-world creative applications. Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging and interactive IB Art lessons aligned with curriculum standards and school learning goals
* Teach visual arts concepts including drawing, painting, mixed media, design thinking, and artistic analysis
* Develop creative lesson plans that encourage experimentation, originality, and critical thinking
* Apply inquiry-based learning strategies to support hands-on art education and student-led exploration
* Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic and creative needs of students
* Maintain continuity in curriculum delivery and ensure strong progression across high school art programmes
* Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where creativity and confidence can grow
* Assess student work, provide meaningful feedback, and monitor academic and artistic progress
* Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen interdisciplinary learning and school-wide creative initiatives
* Participate in parent-teacher meetings and maintain strong communication with families regarding student progress
* Support exhibitions, school events, and extracurricular art programmes that enhance student engagement
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor of Education degree or an initial degree with PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent teaching qualification with Art specialization
* Proven experience teaching High School Art successfully
* Previous experience within an American curriculum or IB curriculum school is strongly preferred
* Strong understanding of inquiry-based learning and practical art education
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills within diverse school environments
* Ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
* Passion for inspiring creativity and delivering outstanding teaching experiences
