Role Context
The Islamic Teacher plays an important role in building both academic progress and personal values among students by delivering engaging Islamic education that supports character development and strong learning outcomes. This position helps students grow in knowledge, confidence, and responsible behaviour while strengthening the school’s learning culture and community values.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver inspiring Islamic Studies lessons that help students achieve strong academic outcomes
* Plan and prepare engaging lessons aligned with curriculum standards and school learning objectives
* Create a positive classroom environment with effective learning resources and student-focused displays
* Motivate students through enthusiastic and imaginative teaching methods
* Assess student progress regularly and use results to improve lesson planning and intervention strategies
* Maintain accurate student development records using school systems such as Target Tracker
* Support students across different ability levels with inclusive teaching approaches
* Work closely with parents during Parent Teacher Conferences and regular school communication
* Follow behaviour management policies and maintain strong classroom discipline with positive reinforcement
* Contribute to curriculum action groups, extracurricular activities, school events, and weekly ECA programmes
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s Degree in the related subject with PGCE or another recognised teaching qualification
* Minimum 1 to 2 years of teaching experience in a similar role
* Previous experience working with students where English is not their first language
* Strong passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child
* Professional approach with strong focus on child wellbeing and safeguarding
* Excellent communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues
* Active involvement in extracurricular and school community activities
* Respect for diversity and strong ability to work within multicultural school environments
* Positive, solution-focused attitude and strong teamwork skills
* Clean enhanced police clearance or Disclosure and Barring Services check
