Role Context
The Music Teacher plays a key role in developing students’ musical talent, creative expression, and performance confidence across secondary levels. This position supports student achievement by delivering engaging Music lessons, maintaining high teaching standards, and contributing to a wider school culture focused on excellence, enrichment, and global citizenship.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality Music lessons for KS4 and KS5 students following the National Curriculum for England
* Prepare lesson plans and classroom activities that encourage creativity, performance skills, and musical understanding
* Assess student progress regularly and provide clear academic feedback to support improvement
* Maintain accurate academic records, reports, and performance tracking for students
* Create an inclusive and positive classroom environment that supports all learners
* Differentiate instruction to meet varying student abilities and musical backgrounds
* Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen curriculum delivery and department performance
* Participate actively in concerts, performances, extracurricular activities, and the enriched curriculum programme
* Build strong communication with parents regarding student progress and artistic development
* Uphold school values and contribute positively to the wider school community
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor of Education or degree with PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent teaching qualification
* Exceptional subject knowledge in Music and performance education
* Minimum 3 years of experience teaching the National Curriculum for England
* Proven experience teaching Music at KS4 and KS5 levels
* Strong classroom management and lesson delivery skills
* Proven track record of outstanding teaching and student achievement
* Passion for helping students reach top academic and creative performance
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
* Ability to contribute to co-curricular and enrichment programmes
