Role Context
The MYP and DP Mathematics Teacher plays a vital role in helping students achieve academic excellence through rigorous and engaging mathematics education aligned with the International Baccalaureate framework. This position supports student growth by combining strong subject expertise with inquiry-based teaching, data-informed instruction, and meaningful pastoral care. The teacher contributes to both curriculum innovation and the wider school community while helping students become reflective, independent, and globally minded learners.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality Mathematics lessons across IB Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme levels
* Plan engaging and differentiated lessons that support conceptual understanding and strong examination performance
* Apply inquiry-based teaching methods that encourage analytical thinking, problem-solving, and student independence
* Monitor, assess, and report student progress using data to improve attainment and learning outcomes
* Prepare students effectively for internal and external assessments within the IB framework
* Foster a positive, inclusive, and academically ambitious classroom environment
* Support students with academic guidance and personal development through strong pastoral care
* Collaborate with department colleagues to strengthen curriculum delivery and share best teaching practices
* Contribute to curriculum development, assessment planning, and departmental improvement initiatives
* Participate actively in extracurricular programmes, school events, and wider community activities
* Uphold safeguarding standards and promote the IB Learner Profile values across the school
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor of Education degree or an initial degree with PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent teaching qualification with Mathematics specialization
* Minimum 3 years of experience teaching Secondary or High School Mathematics
* Previous experience within an IB curriculum school is preferred but not mandatory
* Strong understanding of IB MYP and DP frameworks and Approaches to Teaching is highly desirable
* Advanced qualifications are preferred but not essential
* Proven track record of effective teaching and strong student academic outcomes
* Strong commitment to continuous professional growth and teaching excellence
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills within a diverse international school environment
