Role Context
The Personalised Learning Specialist plays a critical role in helping students overcome academic barriers by delivering focused intervention programmes and subject-specific support. This position strengthens student confidence, improves classroom engagement, and ensures learners receive the structured academic assistance needed to succeed within a high-performing American curriculum school.
Key Responsibilities
* Support individual students and small groups during lessons and structured intervention sessions inside and outside the classroom
* Deliver subject-specific intervention programmes in areas such as English, Maths, Science, and Arabic under the direction of teaching staff
* Plan targeted learning activities that help students achieve measurable academic improvement
* Adapt learning materials and teaching approaches to meet varying student abilities and progress levels
* Observe, monitor, and report on student progress during classroom learning and intervention sessions
* Liaise with teachers and subject leaders to ensure intervention content aligns with curriculum objectives
* Assist students with exam preparation, revision strategies, retrieval practice, and study support
* Prepare, organise, and maintain classroom resources and teaching materials
* Promote student wellbeing, confidence, positive behaviour, and active participation in learning
* Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment following safeguarding and school policies
Ideal Profile
* SEN qualification with Diploma is required
* Minimum 2 years of SEN experience in a school environment
* Strong English language skills or proficiency in the language used within the school curriculum
* Experience supporting students with personalised learning plans and intervention programmes
* Ability to work effectively with teachers, leadership teams, and support staff
* Strong classroom support and student engagement skills
* Professional, calm, and approachable communication style
* Commitment to safeguarding, student wellbeing, and inclusive education
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage student progress records
* Positive attitude with strong teamwork and problem-solving abilities
