Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging lessons that inspire students to succeed and achieve the best possible academic outcomes.
* Plan, prepare, and present classroom sessions that meet curriculum
* Organise classroom resources, displays, and learning materials to create a positive and stimulating environment.
* Work closely with fellow teachers to plan lessons, share ideas, and improve curriculum delivery.
* Build strong relationships with students, parents, colleagues, support staff, and the wider school community.
* Use inclusive teaching methods that motivate pupils and encourage independence, confidence, and active participation.
* Observe and assess children in line with school assessment procedures and classroom expectations.
* Record student development using Target Tracker and use data to guide future planning, provision, and intervention.
* Provide clear feedback to parents and carers on student progress during conferences and school meetings.
* Manage classroom behaviour effectively while promoting respect, self-control, independence, and positive learning habits.
* Liaise with speech therapists, occupational therapists, educational psychologists, and support professionals when required.
* Take part in curriculum action groups, planning discussions, assessment activities, resources development, and special events.
* Support school events, outings, activities, and extra-curricular programmes when needed.
* Communicate student achievements and wellbeing updates through school systems such as CPOMS where appropriate.
* Run a weekly extra-curricular activity each term and contribute positively to the wider life of the school.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s Degree in a related subject with PGCE or another recognised teaching qualification.
* Minimum 1-2 years of teaching experience.
* Previous experience working with students whose first language is not English is an advantage.
* Strong understanding of curriculum planning, classroom instruction, assessment, and student progress tracking.
* Ability to teach mixed-ability learners using creative, inclusive, and well-organised classroom methods.
* Passion for teaching, whole-child development, and student wellbeing.
* High level of professionalism, cultural awareness, and respect for all members of the school community.
* Recent and consistent involvement in extra-curricular activities is preferred.
* Positive and solution-focused attitude toward teamwork, school life, and professional responsibilities.
* Clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police clearance as required.
