The Psychology Teacher plays an important role in helping students understand human behaviour, emotional intelligence, and psychological research through structured academic learning and supportive mentoring. This role combines strong curriculum delivery with student wellbeing guidance, enabling learners to develop analytical thinking, ethical awareness, and personal growth while preparing for academic success in ICSE and IB pathways.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging Psychology lessons for middle and high school students following ICSE and IB curriculum frameworks
* Plan inquiry-based lessons that encourage critical thinking, research skills, and independent analysis
* Teach psychological theories, behavioural science, research methods, and ethical practices using real-world applications
* Guide students through case studies, investigations, and authentic psychological research activities
* Provide personalized academic support and constructive feedback to strengthen student understanding and performance
* Promote ethical reasoning, self-awareness, and responsible decision-making within classroom discussions
* Support adolescent wellbeing through counselling awareness and collaboration with student support teams
* Work closely with parents, teachers, and leadership on student welfare strategies and academic progress
* Collaborate across departments to integrate psychology concepts into wider interdisciplinary learning experiences
* Stay updated with current developments in psychology education and counselling practices through continuous professional learning
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Counselling, or a related academic field
* Recognized teaching certification or teaching licence in Psychology or a relevant subject area
* Certification or diploma in School Counselling or Guidance is strongly preferred
* Previous experience teaching Psychology within ICSE and or IB curriculum settings
* Experience working as a school counsellor is an advantage
* Strong understanding of psychology theories, research methods, counselling techniques, and ethical standards
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong mentoring ability
* Commitment to building an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students
