The School Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for the school and plays an important role in maintaining a professional, organized, and positive front office environment. This position supports admissions, attendance, visitor management, and parent communication while helping ensure smooth day-to-day school operations. The role contributes directly to parent satisfaction and school reputation through excellent service and strong administrative support.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide accurate information about the school including curriculum, admissions procedures, location, and school structure
* Handle telephone calls professionally and direct enquiries to the appropriate school personnel
* Welcome parents, visitors, and prospective families courteously to ensure a positive front-of-house experience
* Coordinate school tours in partnership with the Admissions team and provide visitor support during tours
* Maintain caller and visitor databases for reporting, tracking, and lead generation purposes
* Manage daily attendance registers and ensure timely completion of attendance procedures
* Support the Parent Relations Executive with school events and parent engagement activities when required
* Complete assigned administrative and secretarial tasks to support the wider Front of House team
* Ensure all GEMS policies, procedures, and professional standards are followed consistently
* Attend meetings and assist with committee responsibilities when required

Ideal Profile

* College degree from a recognized university is desirable such as BA or BSc
* Minimum one year of experience in a receptionist, front desk, or customer service-focused role
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a diverse school environment
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask during busy periods
* Professional and welcoming personality with strong customer service focus
* Proficient computer and secretarial skills
* Advanced Microsoft Office skills are an advantage
